Suggestion: Server Status

Hello.
I would like to respectfully suggest the creation of a server status topic that can be updated when the server is down, or is planned to be down, etc..
It seems the server has been down a lot recently and it would be nice to know if it is being updated or if there is a technical issue, etc., and perhaps when it might be back up.
The topic might be a good place to alert the owners if the server was down and they did not realise it.
Just an idea.

Well, we have a ticker on the main forum page, but it isn't updated very often... And most of the OP+ have CloseKnight in their friends on skype and will send him messages when the server is down. I don't see it as necessary, but perhaps a better idea (since he checks this more often than the forum) is add CK on skype and message him when it is down.
We'll see what Admin says.

Thanks for the reply Xman. I dont really use Skype much but I do check the forums most days. I am not sure what others prefer to use to communicate. Do you think many people here use skype? I had sort of thought only the admins were using it.

I was sort of thinking along the lines of a one stop place to keep the community updated.

Most people here probably don't use skype. It's mostly just admins. But then again, we have a lot of admins that have diverse play times, so in that way we're defended against server crashes. I'd like to see more people join the skype conversation though. It's a good way to communicate with people that aren't on minecraft.
