SpawnTown Project

I have been asked to try and organize a group of Master Builders to create a new spawn area. The new area is called SpawnTown.

The concept behind SpawnTown will be a "Frontier Town" look. Everything should be made out of wood and cobble stone except for some rare decorative blocks. The town should look rather primative and close to nature. Specifically, "fancy" blocks such as glass, diamond, obsidian, or other solid color type blocks should not be used. Logs, wood, cobblestone, dirt, etc, are the preferred blocks. Some fancier blocks such as smoothstone bricks may be used but need to be approved. This will be a challenge to work within these restrictions but should create a nice over all look.

To organise this effort, I have created a workspace on Wunderkit to keep track of Tasks. To be part of the project, you will need to create an account on Wunderkit (free): https://www.wunderkit.com/#/minecraft-agn-spawntown/

This project is a great way for Masterbuilders to contribute to the server. The current spawn area looks bad and could use our help! I would also consider letting others join the effort if you are at least Trusted rank. This project might be a good way to get some recognition for your work and help get ranked up. The project will be self sustaining for the most part. We will need to provide our own materials, etc. There will be jobs for resource collecting which will be an easy way to contribute. I might sign up later, but I've got one suggestion: decorative lava.

We made some great progress last night. A lot of people just jumped in without offcially joining the project and contributed resources and their time and energy building the roads, lights, and bridges around the town. Thanks guys!

Don't forget, to offically join, sign up to Wunderkit, and post your info here including what job you might like. Just saying "general work" is fine if you don't have a specific job in mind.

I lost all of my stuff in the little spawn house. You NEED windows! I lost all of my stuff in there, because a skeleton was able to shoot me.

More progress was made last night. The outer road around town is in place. We also got a great start on a central tower. We are scouting out places for the actual spawn point and instruction signs.

Slow but good progress over the weekend. The central tower is finished and a few new roads have been added or expanded. There is also a new mine in progress.

A little more progress. We now have a rather long outer road system that conects to an NPC village and then loops back to spawn. Kind of fun.
Xman has also started building the underground spawn and tutoral area. This already has a couple rooms with examples of what not to do on the server.
We also have our first shop courtesy of Golden Black.

We could use more help! In particular, we needs more light posts, and some addiotnal houses. I also plan on extending the roads a bit more.

The are a number of unauthorized new structures and other changes at Spawn Town.
These DO NOT have permission. Unless I specifically allocated you a space to build, these are not allowed.

On top of that some idiot left hanging trees in the middle of the town! REALLY?

I am doing some cleanup and may completely destroy things I dont like at this point!

Tarl, I saw these buildings being put up and warned that if you were unhappy that you could take them down. That being said, next time we are both on, I can help you tear down things you don't like.

Thanks Xman! Apprently the guy was a real jerk according to others that were on. His stuff has all been fixed or removed.

Tbird came to the rescue and setup the expanded Towny borders for Spawn Town so now people can only build if I give them permission.

Also, the official server spawn has now moved to Spawn Town. The project is not completely "done" but I think it is done enough at this point. We have several shops and full time residents right now and I am still working on expansions.

A special thanks to Tbird and Xman for all of their help thus far. They have been consistently reliable for the project.
